As more data emerge, it is increasingly clear that public education will experience declines in available revenue for the 2020-21 fiscal year. At the same time, the federal government recently passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act providing much needed financial support, including $13.5 billion in funding for school districts and schools. These resources will support transitions to distance learning, technology to connect students to learning, and deep sanitation of school facilities among other possible uses.
