We sold our first apartment in Astoria through Hauseit. We owned our Astoria apartment for about five years before we sold it.
So, I did a lot of research on traditional brokerage models and then came across some newer online ones, and I found that in even meeting with the traditional brokers and interviewing with them I just didn’t see you know a real value add that they would be bringing for the commission that they were charging.
So, I turned my attention to more of the online ones and Hauseit came across as really easy to use and professional. You know, I did my research on it and I liked you know the advertisement of 1% Full Service Listing that Hauseit was offering.
I made an appointment the next day to have a call with Hauseit and we set everything up really easily and quickly. I felt that the commission rates in the city were really high. I mean 3% to for the buyer and 3% for the seller, and in today’s day and age where you know for me I know that in the buying process like I do most of the research myself. I know like all the way to look for the listings online and it’s really more like the broker aspect of it is helping to connect me to a listing that I brought to them.
So, it just felt like it was really high for the work that I was putting in as well. I wanted the 1% Full Service because you know I wanted the help to be able to come in and help us with the photographs and also you know negotiating on our behalf with prospective buyers, and there’s just a lot of value in that we felt that we couldn’t do on our own with the Flat Fee (Agent Assisted FSBO) service.
Both me and my husband were working, so we wouldn’t be able to attend you know to open houses. We didn’t want to host them ourselves. What ended up happening when we worked with your partner broker is that they you know they were able to schedule appointments and showings while when we were not available. So, it really helped you know take a lot of load and work off of our plate.
We really like Hauseit’s Partner Broker. They were very professional. I had an initial call the next day after I scheduled it, and he was just super professional on the phone, knew what he was talking about, was very knowledgeable about my building and had already done some research on my apartment, so I was very impressed.
For discount brokerages, I was very curious about why more people weren’t doing it and I feel like it is the trend that we will be moving towards, especially you know with technology nowadays I think more and more people are going to be questioning the traditional brokerage model like I ended up doing.
I thought that the marketing for our apartment was very well done, you know we started off with professional pictures, Hauseit’s Partner Broker came in with photographer and they you know, I was there with them and it was a really fun experience to see you know how much they cared about you know how the apartment would look.
We were made to feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. This was the sale of our first apartment so we just had a lot of questions never done it before and we felt that Hauseit’s Partner Broker did a fantastic job of making sure that we have a comfortable throughout the whole process.
So, we ended up selling for about $445,000 which we were, we ended up being really happy with. I would definitely recommend Hauseit to all my friends and family, in fact, we already have.
My favorite part of the experience, honestly, was just being able to so seamlessly connect with Hauseit’s Partner Broker. We ended up really liking her, so we’re looking forward to working with her again in the future so it’s great that we’ve got you know like a real estate broker out of this.
