Can’t believe how balinese people are so generous.
Starting filming early in the morning before sunrise, I really enjoyed those mornings and encounters. I have met so many different people. From the labours living in the cabin on the field (constructing villas), the farmers and different persons coming to get grass for their cows or leafs for offrandes. I have got the opportunity to interview this kind 68 old year man, ex village head, on service for 15 years working unpaid. He really served the community. Nowadays, village head are paid. He invited me to his house and met his family. I have actually got beautiful footage of him and his family at his place but haven’t used them for this short movie.
The translation of the interview is not 100% accurate but the intention and meaning are correct.
The landscape and its cultural traditions are so loved by the tourists. However more and more farmers are selling their rice field to developers…to build villa for tourism purpose. This is changing lifestyle of the community and farmers leaving from those rice fields.
